RoHS and WEEE

Visimetrics recognises the necessity to maintain a healthy and prosperous environment. A combination of technological innovation and sound environmental business decisions at every step of our products life cycle will ensure these goals are achieved.

Our commitment to the RoHS and WEEE Directives is demonstrated in the following activities and policies:

RoHS : "Restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment"

This Directive bans the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants with effect from 1st July 2006.

Visimetrics has modified its practices and processes to fully comply with the requirements of the RoHS directive implemented on 1st July 2006. All products supplied by Visimetrics throughout the EU market have been designed (or redesigned) to be RoHS compliant by the beginning of Q2 2006.

Visimetrics will continue to monitor the international marketplace for emerging RoHS related directives ensuring our products comply with developing international requirements.

WEEE : Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive) aims to minimise the impact of electrical and electronic goods on the environment, by increasing re-use and recycling and reducing the amount of WEEE going to landfill. It seeks to achieve this by making producers responsible for financing the collection, treatment, and recovery of waste electrical equipment, and by obliging distributors to allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of charge.

Visimetrics has modified its practices and processes to ensure conformity to the requirements of this directive. All Visimetrics products clearly marked with the WEEE logo (crossed out wheelie bin) are incorporated within our product recycling scheme subject to European Directive 2002/96/EC for WEEE.
