Visimetrics completes West Coast Main Line upgrade
Visimetrics Digital Evidence Recorders have provided the recording solution for the national upgrade of the West Coast Main Line CCTV system by franchise operator, Virgin Trains. The recording solution is based upon a network of FASTAR, VADER and OCTAR recording systems to meet the recording profiles of each station.
With each station categorised depending on its use and the variety of scene types within each station a fully flexible system design was required. Utilising the lower density camera count of high performance FASTAR real-time DVR and VADER high speed time-lapse DVR enabled an extremely efficient recording solution when used in conjunction with OCTAR System for all low frame rate time-lapse recording. All three products are currently accessed and managed by Visimetrics CONTROL application locally with the next phase of the system upgrade making them available for access centrally.
Now fully integrated within Virgin Trains national security operation the management and quality of evidence from Visimetrics systems comes firmly under the spot light. “We are delighted with the quality of evidence we are now passing on to the police. Our security staff have swiftly embraced Visimetrics system and it has now become an essential tool in reducing crime and the fear of crime in and around our stations” reports Richard Hands, Virgin Trains Senior Project Manager.
