Q.
On starting the Control application a username and password are being asked for are there defaults to use?
A.
Installing the Control application will provide 3 levels of default user accounts: administrator, manager and operator. The username and password for each of the levels is the is the same as the type i.e. manager’s default username and password is manager.
(Note: username and passwords are case sensitive)
Q.
The default username and passwords have been changed on our system how we can gain access.
A.
The username and passwords can be reset to default by contacting our Technical Support with an Access Code. The Access Code can be displayed using CTRL & E or selecting the icon at the top left of the logon dialog box.
Q.
How can I access networked system from Control application?
A.
The system to be accessed should be added to the system list within setup. (This requires Administrator access level). Under the option for “Local Systems” select Add and input the name of the OCTAR to be accessed.
Q.
How can I select the camera for the Spot Monitor output?
A.
To select or change the camera for Spot Monitor output select Live then the system name and camera you wish to provide to the spot output.
Q.
What is the difference between Remote Systems and Local Systems?
A.
Remote systems provide the configuration for access through ISDN. All system, name, modem and telephone options are configured within Add. Local systems provide the configuration options for Local Area Network (LAN) OCTAR. The only requirement in configuring LAN systems is the addition of the system name.
Q.
The Archive to CD and Selection to CD option buttons are greyed out.
A.
Archive to CD and Selection to CD will only be enabled on PC’s that support CD writing. Where a CD writer is installed and the options are still greyed out access to the CD may conflict with another CD writing package such as Nero. Ensure Control has exclusive access to the CD writer.
